Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province, the Eastern Province Municipality has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Oil Park Development Company (OPDC) - the company responsible for developing THE RIG. - at the Emirate's premises, signaling a new era of collaboration and progress in the region.
 Under the careful oversight of His Royal Highness, and in the presence of Husameddin AlMadani, Managing Director of OPDC, the esteemed Mayor of the Eastern Province, His Excellency Fahad bin Mohammed Al-Jubeir and Eng. Raed Bakhrji, CEO of OPDC signed the MOU aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two entities. The agreement focuses on several areas of collaboration, including exchanging information and studies to enhance THE RIG.’s visitor experience and increase the Eastern Province’s attractiveness to tourists
 His Royal Highness emphasized the transformative potential of THE RIG., noting: "THE RIG. will be a catalyst for the growth across essential sectors, including tourism, transportation, and commerce, which will in turn enhance the quality of life for residents and strengthen the Eastern Province’s economy."
 Raed Bakhrji, the CEO of OPDC, emphasized the importance of the Eastern Province Municipality's support for THE RIG., saying: “Our collaboration with the Eastern Province Municipality will contribute to achieving strategic and operational integration that will enhance the quality and distinction of our project." He added: "THE RIG. draws its inspiration from Vision 2030 and its initiatives to develop the tourism sector, and it is expected to be one of the leading adventure tourism destinations aiming to attract more than 900,000 visitors annually by 2032. Signing the MOU with the Eastern Province Municipality is a crucial step in achieving the project's goals, which will in turn contribute to enhancing the activities of local businesses and creating job opportunities in the region."
 Husameddin AlMadani, Managing Director of OPDC, highlighted the project's significance in contributing to the tourism sector, while celebrating the Kingdom's rich heritage in the oil and gas industry, stating: "THE RIG. is the world’s first tourism destination on an offshore platform inspired by the design of offshore oil platforms. The development of this project aligns with the goals of Vision 2030, aiming to elevate the Kingdom's international standing in the tourism industry."

Today, Oil Park Development Company (OPDC), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia and the entity behind THE RIG., and the Saudi Facility Management Company (FMTECH) have officially entered into a Memorandum of Understanding.
 This partnership, signed by Oil Park Development Company’s CEO, Raed Bakhrji and FMTECH's CEO, Adel Ibrahim Alroeshedy, will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategy for facilities, property, and asset management services at THE RIG. The agreement aims to align THE RIG.'s operational service needs with top-tier facilities and asset management practices.
 Raed Bakhrji emphasized that the collaboration with FMTECH underscores THE RIG.'s dedication to improving operational efficiency and safety. Bakhrji further stated, "Through this partnership, we strive to ensure that our facilities are designed, equipped, and maintained to best support their intended operational requirements, while also being adaptable to future needs or changes."
 Adel Alroeshedy expressed, "Being involved in an ambitious project like THE RIG. enables us to collaborate on many areas that will help incorporate state-of-the-art technologies in facility and asset management. A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed today between THE RIG. and Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, to explore mutually beneficial areas of collaboration and further empower the travel and tourism industry.
 The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by Engineer Raed Bakhrji, CEO of THE RIG., and Ibrahim Salman Koshy, CEO of Saudia in Riyadh.
 The agreement will enable THE RIG. and Saudia to explore initiatives that will increase visitor traffic to the Eastern province and promote the visitor experience at THE RIG. It will also explore opportunities with new transportation methods, such as eVTOL and carbon reduction initiatives, supporting the sustainability commitments of both companies.
 Raed Bakhrji stated: "THE RIG. draws inspiration from Vision 2030 and its initiatives to develop the tourism sector. The agreement aims to bolster collaboration in wildlife conservation efforts and to mutually achieve their respective objectives.
 The signing ceremony took place at the National Center for Wildlife's headquarters in Riyadh, with Raed Bakhrji, CEO of Oil Park Development Company (OPDC), and Dr. Mohamed Qurban, CEO of the National Center for Wildlife, officially sealing the agreement.
 The agreement will support THE RIG. in its efforts to maximize positive environmental impact, empower communities, facilitate eco-experiences, and operate responsibly through initiatives such as:

 Dr. Mohammed Qurban stated, "This memorandum of understanding establishes an organizational framework for cooperation with the Oil Park Development Company (OPDC) in the conservation and sustainability of wildlife within the area of THE RIG. project. This aligns with the Center's dedication to preserving ecosystems, conserving and enhancing biodiversity in accordance with the National Environmental Strategy, the Saudi Green Initiative, and the objectives of Vision 2030."

THE RIG., one of Public Investment Fund’s (PIF) entertainment projects, announced today the launch of its Masterplan, an ambitious and unprecedented vision for tourism that will redefine adventure tourism.
 The project is in line with PIF’s strategy and the Kingdom's Vision 2030 objectives of contributing to the growth of the tourism sector, directly and indirectly contributing to employment opportunities, and diversifying the economy.
 THE RIG. is inspired by the design of offshore oil platforms, to celebrate the legacy and heritage of Saudi Arabia's long oil and gas history. The unique hospitality and adventure experience will span a gross floor area of over 300,000 square meters, located 40km from the coastline, near Al Juraid Island and Berri Oil Field in the Arabian Gulf.
 THE RIG. will seek to attract over 900,000 annual visitors by 2032, appealing to a wide range of domestic, regional and international audiences, including adrenaline seekers, explorers, balanced holiday makers, and relaxation seekers. 
 The range of hospitality, leisure, entertainment and accommodation options provided by THE RIG. include three hotels totaling 800 rooms, along with 11 restaurants, an extreme sports & adventure park, a world-class marina, and helipads.
 THE RIG. will feature a wide variety of water activities, including a diving center, in addition to an amusement park, splash park, an E-sports center, an immersive theater and multipurpose arena. THE RIG. will also celebrate the Kingdom's rich oil and gas heritage by creating an exceptional and unique experience, making it a must-visit destination.
 The project will be developed by the Oil Park Development Company (OPDC) under the direction of its CEO, Raed N. Bakhrji, who brings more than 20 years of experience in the oil & gas industry and a passion for the future of adventure tourism.

Three Years Sponsorship with Al Hilal SFC
